Now uninterrupted payments under MNREGA in coordination with banks and post offices
Bhopal: Public fund management system (PFMS) has been launched in the state to strengthen e-payment system under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Development Scheme and solve problems faced by labourers in getting wages. Through NREGA software in coordination with banking system and post offices uninterrupted payments are being made.
To ensure even better use of the system, a state level workshop will be held at Narmada Bhavan here on July 14, 2015 at 10.30 am. Mumbai-based senior technical officers of major banks and senior officers of post office, NIC, New Delhi, Union Ministry of Rural Development and state’s Panchayats & Rural Development Department will participate in it. The workshop is being held by State Employment Guarantee Council and Panchayats & Rural Development Department.
Public fund management system (PFMS) was launched through fund transfer order (FTO) under e-FMS in February 2015. Discussions will be held at the workshop on technique being adopted by banks and post offices through PFMS and removal of problems being experienced in it. Detailed discussions will also be held on effective implementation of electronic payments through e-FMS with the help of NAREGA software.
Madhya Pradesh is the first state of the country where effective arrangements for payments have been made under MNREGA through e-FMS. During financial year 2013-14, payments through cheques were completely abolished under the scheme and payments for wages and materials are being made only through e-FMS. From financial year 2015-16, a state level ledger is being maintained under MNREGA for all payments.
