Obscene acts, dirty comments towards women are highest in MP with 25741 cases: Report

Madhya Pradesh ranks first in cases of obscene acts and dirty comments made by women in public places. This information has been found in the report prepared on the basis of NCRB data released by the Central Government.

According to the report, in 2022-23, 25,741 cases related to women making obscene gestures and comments in public places were registered across the country. Of these, maximum 39% i.e. 10,133 cases were reported in Madhya Pradesh. In this list, Tamil Nadu is at second place and Maharashtra is at third place.

The Central Government has prepared this report, so that the cases of crime related to moral values can be assessed. Also, the governments of the states where such crimes are taking place more often, should be instructed to pay attention to this.

According to the report, Nagpur city of Maharashtra is at the top and Mumbai is at the second place in the cases of making obscene gestures and comments to women. At the same time, Indore, the cleanest city of the country, is at number six in this list. Such crimes were also registered in 19 big cities of the country.
