Officers should be cautious while preparing photo electoral rolls
Bhopal: Officers should exercise utmost caution while preparing photo electoral rolls for civic body elections to be held in November-December this year. Preparation of error-free electoral rolls will not only facilitate voters, but electoral process can also be conducted smoothly. This was directed by Secretary State Election Commission, Shri G.P. Shrivastava during training to tahsildars-naib tahsildars for civil body elections at State Election Commission here today.
During training, point-wise information was given to participants. It was informed that Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation, Bhopal has been appointed as the State-level agency for preparation of photo electoral rolls. A web-based system is also being evolved to ensure maximum use of information technology in ensuing civic body and three-tier Panchayat elections. After evolution of this software, all information will be exchanged with districts through website.
It is noteworthy that it has been decided to use photo electoral rolls for the first time in civic body and three-tier Panchayat elections in the state.
