Pachouri Confident of UPA Returning to Power
Bhopal: What could be called a response to senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj’s remarks showing confidence of NDA crossing magic figure in Lok Sabha elections, MPCC president Suresh Pachouri has said that his party and its allies will again form the government, with Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister.
“We (Congress) along with our allies will again form the government with Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister,” Pachouri said in an election meeting organised in support of the Congress candidate from Mandsaur, Meenakshi Natrajan.
He said the UPA government has fulfilled all its promises made during the last Parliamentary elections.
Cautioning people not to be carried away by nefarious designs of divisive forces, Pachouri said that some political parties were dividing the society on the name of religion just for electoral gains.
Lambasting at BJP, he said that the UPA government has granted huge funds to Madhya Pradesh for development works but the money was either misused or lost in corruption.
Criticizing the saffron party for non-performance, he claimed that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh had not yet fulfilled its promises which it made during the assembly polls of 2003.
