Power Distributor Lights up 3876 Tribal Homes
The electrification is part of Prime Minister's Janman Yojana

The central region power distributor has electrified 3876 homes in nine tribal dominated districts of the region as part of the Prime Minister’s campaign for tribal justice.
As per a communique of the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Limited, 355 homes in the region were electrified on October 2, to coincide with Gandhi Jayanti.
The nine districts include Gwalior, Vidisha, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Datia, Guna, Raisen, and Bhind.
The company said that it plans to electrify the remaining 10,942 tribal beneficiary households by December 2024 under the ‘Prime Minister’s Tribal Justice Campaign (Prime Minister Janman Yojana).’
The scheme, among key initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is progressing at a rapid pace in the region. Once completed, the scheme will energise and work is being carried out at a rapid pace. The scheme aims to electrify a total of 1,158 villages and hamlets in the districts of Gwalior, Vidisha, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Datia, Guna, Raisen, and Bhind.
Pursuing the vision of Prime Minister Modi, the scheme will not just provide children from tribal families with opportunities for education, household work, and employment but also improve access to drinking water, street lighting, and basic amenities.
