Pt Makhanlal Chaturvedis house to be converted in grand memorial in Babai
Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that house of renowned poet Pt. Makhanlal Chaturvedi in Babai will be converted into a grand memorial. State government will bear its cost. He said an ITI will be opened in Babai. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing Antoday Mela in Babai in Hoshangabad district.
The Chief Minister dedicated works of Rs 33.07 crore and performed bhoomi-pujan for 19 works to the tune of Rs 12.76 crore. Assembly speaker Dr Seetasharan Sharma, public works minister Shri Rampal Singh, minister of state for food processing Shri Suryaprakash Meena, former minister Shri Sartaj Singh, Member of Parliament Shri Rao Uday Pratap Singh, MLA Shri Thakurdas Nagvanshi were present on the occasion.
Antoday Mela to be named as Garib Mela
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Antoday Mela would now be converted as Garib Mela. State government is committed for welfare of poor. He said, poor people residing at a place will be given ownership right (patta). Shri Chouhan said that two lakh houses will be given to poor people by the year 2018. The Chief Minister said that fruit saplings will be planted on one km of alongside of Narmada river. Farmer’s consent will be taken in this regard. He said, sewage water flowing in the river will be stopped. Sewage treatment plant having cost of Rs 1500 crore is being set up.
Referring welfare of farmers, the Chief Minister said that farmers’ income will be doubled in coming five years. He announced to set up industry at Babai farm. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan announced to construct 300 houses having cost of Rs 15 crore, for poorer, Rs ten lakh for water conservation in old water reservoirs, Rs one crore each for new office building for Nagar Panchayat and bus stand. He further announced Rs 18 crore for re-construction of road from Bagra to Nasirabad. The Chief Minister said Rs 218 crore would be distributed in 71 thousand 517 farmers for crop compensation. Shri Chouhan said that Rs 7600 crore were deposited in bank accounts for laptop to 18000 meritorious students and 23,000 girls for providing benefits under Ladli Laxmi Yojana. The Chief Minister distributed amounts and items to 11 thousand 324 beneficiaries under different schemes of the state government in Antoday Mela.
