The Women and Child Development Department, under the guidance of officers Naqi Jahan Qureshi and Sunil Solanki, launched an initiative to empower women and adolescent girls in the state capital.

The initiative was supported by Shalini Saxena of Priyanshi Education and Culture Social Society (PECS), led by Shalini Saxena, and Rakhshan Zahid of the Women Education Empowerment Society (WEES), led by Rakshan Shameem Zahid. The initiative is a part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.

As part of the initiative, a three-month training course on solar panel technology was provided to 25 women and girls at the Bhim Nagar Anganwadi Centre. The comprehensive course included a 15-day internship.

At the Jharneshwar Centre, 25 women and girls received free training in electric vehicle technology, focusing on mechanics, battery understanding, and repairs. Three trainees secured jobs in Bhopal during the program.

In collaboration with WEES, a 10-day training course in zari-zardosi, stitching, embroidery, and financial literacy was offered to 30 women and girls at the Jailbag Anganwadi Centre in Kolar. Many trainees have since started their own businesses.

After completing the training, the women and girls pledged to contribute a portion of their income to a piggy bank committee at the Anganwadi Centre to manage minor needs independently. They aim to transform their Anganwadi into a model centre, beyond departmental support.
