Rain in Bhopal since morning, the level of the Upper Lake increased; Dudhi river overflows in Chhindwara

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Betul and Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh. More than 8 inches of rain is expected in 24 hours. There is also an alert of very heavy rain in Narmadapuram, Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Guna, Sheopurkalan and Sagar.

There may be heavy rains in 28 districts of the state including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior,  till now the state has received 16% excess rainfall. Cyclonic circulation will form from 18th July. Due to this, there may be heavy rains in many districts from 20 to 26 July.

Due to incessant rains, the water level of Upper Lake of Bhopal has increased. The Kolans river fills this pond. The river water has increased the water level of the big pond by 0.35 feet. The level of the pond has increased from 1660.90 to 1661.25 feet. The full tank level of the pond is 1666.80. The water level of Kaliasot, Kerwa and Kolar dams in Bhopal has also increased.

Water level of Tawa Dam in Narmadapuram increased by 7 feet in 24 hours

Roads in rural areas have been closed due to overflowing Dudhi river in Chhindwara. In Tawa Dam in Narmadapuram, water has increased by 7 feet in 24 hours. Due to good rains in Pachmarhi and Jabalpur region, 5 gates of Bargi Dam can also be opened on Tuesday.

Kolans river is overflowing in Eithkhedi of Bhopal. The catchment area of the river is 361 sq km. Half of Sehore and half of Bhopal are included. This rainy river originates from the hilly area three km above Bakania village of Sehore.

In the last 24 hours, 3.03 inches of rainfall in Narmadapuram. 2.37 in Pachmarhi, 2.20 in Raisen, 1.65 in Ujjain, 1.42 in Mandla, 1.21 in Jabalpur, 1.10 inches of rain in Narsinghpur.

​East Madhya Pradesh has received 11% more rain than the average and West Madhya Pradesh has received 20% more than the average. Seoni and Narsinghpur have received maximum rainfall. More than 22 inches of rain has been recorded in Seoni and about 21 inches in Narsinghpur.

In Indore, the roads were submerged in water in the rain that started from Monday evening and there were long jams at the intersections. The worst condition was of Ring Road and BRTS.

More than 16 inches in these districts: Anuppur, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Mandla, Sagar, Indore, Raisen, Sehore and Vidisha.

Rain between 12 to 16 inches is likely in Bhopal, Balaghat, Dindori, Katni, Niwari, Panna, Shahdol, Umaria, Agar-Malwa, Betul, Bhind, Burhanpur, Guna, Harda, Narmadapuram, Neemuch, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Shajapur, Sheopurkalan , Shivpuri and Ujjain.

Least rainfall here: Khargone has received the least rainfall. About 6 inches of rain has been recorded here. Satna, Khandwa, Rewa, Singrauli, Ashoknagar, Barwani.

Very heavy rain: Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Guna, Sheopur and Sagar. It is expected to rain up to 8 inches in 24 hours. There is red alert in Betul and Burhanpur.

Heavy rain and thundershowers: Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Guna, Shivpuri, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni. During this, it can rain up to 4 inches within 24 hours.
