Renowned writer Piyush Babele of Bhopal honored with its first National award, Pt. Nehru Shikhar Samman
9Under the joint aegis of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Bal Sahitya Academy and Jawahar Kala Kendra, the award distribution and honor ceremony of the Academy was organized on Wednesday.
Bhopal resident renowned writer Piyush Babele was honored by the Academy with its first National award, Pt. Nehru Shikhar Samman.
Babele was given a citation and a cash prize of Rs 100,000 as a mark of respect. Babele was given this honor for his book Nehru Myth and Truth.
On this occasion, Babele said that Pandit Nehru’s democratic and nation building ideology is needed to save democracy in the country.
Along with him, 16 other awards were distributed and 9 honors were given by the Academy for special contribution in writing children’s literature and 57 books of children’s writers published by the Academy were released.
Chairman of Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation, Dr. Rajiv Arora was the chief guest, while Principal Secretary of Art Culture Department, Dr. Gayatri Rathore presided over the program.
Chairman of the academy, Ikram Rajasthani said that the academy is working for the betterment of childhood. Various events related to children including children’s fair, children’s film production, children’s literature writing will be organized by the academy. During the program, a book and poster exhibition was organized outside Rangayan in collaboration with Iktara Sanstha of Bhopal.
Akshat Soni, Himakshi Soni presented flute playing under Naunihal. The divine vision children also presented song.
Senior litterateur Farooq Afridi, Prof. Satish Rai, Academy Vice President Bulaki Das along with Academy officials, litterateurs and art lovers were present during this period.
