Rs. 1,000 fine on officer for not providing APL ration card

Bhopal: Indore Collector Shri Akash Tripathi has imposed a fine of Rs. one thousand on Indore Municipal Corporation’s Zonal Officer Shri Prateek Chaturvedi for not providing APL ration cards within time limit under Madhya Pradesh Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act. When this designated officers deposits amount of fine in prescribed head, it will be given to applicant Sushri Malti, resident of 48-Jairam Nagar, Indore.

Sushri Malti had moved an application under Madhya Pradesh Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act on July 25, 2012 for an APL ration card to Maharana Pratap Zone-4 of Indore Municipal Corporation. Zonal and designated officer had fixed August 25 for delivery of ration card. First Appellate Authority under the Act found on the website of Madhya Pradesh Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act that the designated officer had delivered this service to the applicant on August 29. Thus, the designated officer delivered the service with a delay of four days. Due to this reason, Indore Collector Shri Tripathi imposed a per day fine of Rs. 250 on designated and zonal officer Shri Prateek Chaturvedi. The officer has been warned to deliver services under the Act in time in future.

Similarly, Jhabua collector had imposed a fine of Rs. one thousand on Gram Panchayat Secretary for not providing BPL ration card in time-limit.
