Rs. 50 crore will be spent for student welfare in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL (MPINFO): Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that a student welfare fund will be set up with an initial amount of Rs. 50 crore. CM speaking at Vidyarthi Panchayat at his residence announced constitution of Youth Commission at the earliestr in the state.

Addressing students from all the districts of the state at Vidyarthi Panchayat, Chief Minister Chouhan said that Youth Commission will cover education, sports and youth welfare.

He said that improvement in semester system is being considered seriously. Orders are also being issued soon about functioning, rights and duties of student unions. Higher Education Guarantee Scheme will be simplified.

Under the scheme, interest-free loan upto Rs. 4.50 lakh and 50 percent interest-free loan upto Rs. 7 lakh will be made available. Development cells for women will be constituted in all the colleges. A regulatory body will be constituted for coaching classes. Five percent seats will be reserved for farmers’ children in agriculture colleges. Agriculture education will be given importance on par with medical education.

Higher Education Minister Laxmikant Sharma and Minister of State for Technical & Medical Education and Health Mahendra Hardia were also present on the occasion.
