Saba Sultan will work as new head of Bhopal Auqaf e Shahi

BHOPAL: Saba Sultan daughter of late cricketer Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Patuadi’s took over as Bhopal Auqaf-e-Shahi Mutawalli (head) on Monday. Bhopal Auqaf-e-Shahi is a managing body of Bhopal’s princely waqf properties.

In 2008 Patuadi had appointed her as Auqaf-e-Shahi deputy head.

Saba said she would like to live up to her father’s expectations and would work with honesty following his footsteps. “I do not think I could have learnt from a better Mutawalli than my father, I hope he was around to teach me more.” Saba said she plans to build more space in ‘Rubats’ (buildings) in Mecca and Medina that the body manages for Haj pilgrims.

The Auqaf-e-Shahi properties are worth crores and are locked in various legal disputes. Saba hoped that the tangles would be solved successfully. “I think everybody (in the family) will come together to resolve the disputes.”

The Mutawalli of Auqaf e Shahi and a responsible daughter of Late Nawab Pataudi said her actor siblings, Soha and Saif Ali Khan, are very supportive and she will seek their guidance when required.
