Scholarship under Ladli Laxmi Yojna to 17000 girls for first time

Bhopal. The Minister for Woman and Child Development Shrimati Archana Chitnis has informed that the girls will start receiving scholarship for the first time under the Ladli Laxmi Yojna in this educational session.

Around 17 thousand girls have been selected so far under the scheme, she added. Also, process as regard to select the remaining beneficiaries is underway. The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will give scholarship to the beneficiaries girls on August 2 at his residence.

Moreover, Shrimati Chitnis informed that the scholarship under the scheme is provided at various stages to the girls. Under the scheme, Rs. 2000 to the girl taking admission in class 6, Rs. 4000 to 9th class student and Rs. 6000 are given to the girl taking admission in class 11 and 12th as scholarship through e-payment. A sum of Rs. 1 lakh is given on completion of 21 years of age as the final payment.

It is notable that the Ladli Laxmi Yojna was started by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the year 2007. The scheme was studied by the seven states of the country. It has also been studied by the Bangladesh Government. The scheme lauded by the UN, has received several awards at the National Level.
