Shivraj says farmers, Don’t worry about increased electricity tariff
Bhopal. State Government will bear the expenses of farmers on increased electricity tariff. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced on Tuesday. Addressing Thousands of farmers, who reached at state hanger to welcome him, shri Chouhan said the decision about providing loans to farmers at zero percent interest was also lauded in Japan, Singapore and Korea. He said that the State Government wants to make agriculture profitable and make farmers heroes. The State Government is committed to ensuring farmers’ prosperity.
He said that 85 lakh metric tonnes of wheat was procured from farmers by the State Government and also gave them Rs. 100 per quintal bonus. Prices of fertiliser have gone up manifold due to indifference of the Union Government. Struggle against it will continue. The State Government will also struggle to make the Centre agree to implement crop insurance scheme in the state. State-wise agitation will be organised against the Union Government for increasing fertiliser prices on July 15.
The Chief Minister said that now Madhya Pradesh’s growth rate is over 10 percent. Productivity has also increased. He said that the state is moving ahead in the direction of value addition and a concrete initiative towards this will be made soon. He informed that 100 companies of Singapore have given positive indication about investment in the state. Japan is also interested in increasing industrial ties with Madhya Pradesh. If large-scale investment is made then a Japan Zone will also be set up in the state. Several places of the state are being considered for this. Possibilities are also being explored between Indore and Bhopal. Shri Chouhan said that foreign investors are over enthusiastic about immense possibilities of Madhya Pradesh. He said that the State Government wants farmers’ progress and prosperity and make Madhya Pradesh a golden state. The State Government is also going to take a decision to bear expenses of farmers on increased electricity tariff.
On the occasion, State BJP president Shri Prabhat Jha said that Chief Minister Shri Chouhan had gone on foreign visit to attract investment for state’s development and providing employment to youths. Earlier, the government had announced historic decision to provide loans to farmers at one percent interest. He informed that about 2.50 lakh farmers will honour the Chief Minister on July 15 for these announcements and agitate against anti-farmer policies of the Union Government.
