Skill development training to be imparted to 50 thousand tribal youths

Bhopal: State government has decided to impart self-employment training to 50 thousand tribal youths in 2 years under skill development scheme. For this, 67 trades have been selected for training in 89 tribal-dominant development blocks with the cooperation of vocational training providers and National Skill Development Corporation. Tribal Welfare Department has made efforts to ensure that there should be training institutes for youths in every tribal development block. So far, skill development training has been imparted to 28 thousand 500 tribal youths.

Training centres for tribal youths’ skill development have also been set up at Pali in Umaria district, Karahal in Sheopur and Baihar in Balaghat district where arrangements have been made to impart training to 750 youths belonging to primitive tribes Baiga, Sahariya and Bhariya. Training to tribal youths is imparted mainly in information technology, infrastructure-based construction and industrial works, retail sector, health security, paramedical, automobile, banking, insurance, BPO, textiles, electricals, tourism, garment-making, domestic electric appliances etc. Apart from toolkits, free lodging facility and stipends are also provided to the trainees.
For providing jobs to trained youths, a job fair was held recently at Sailana training centre in Ratlam district at which jobs were provided to 213 youths in various companies. Besides, jobs have also been provided to 118 youths of Shahdol, 133 Chhindwara and 27 tribal youths of Mandla district in prestigious companies.
