Soon, Tele medicine facility in medical colleges of state
Bhopal : Tele-medicine facility will soon be started in medical colleges of the state. In the first phase, the facility will be started in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur medical colleges and Rewa and Sagar medical colleges in the second phase. After launch of tele-medicine facility, these medical colleges will work as resource centres and government hospitals will be attached to them. This information was given during review of Medical Education Department activities by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. Minister of State for Medical Education Shri Mahendra Hardia and Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram were also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed special facilities for treatment of heart diseases, cancer and other serious ailments should be developed at medical colleges. Separate departments for this should be set up in medical colleges. On the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, one medical college of the state should have facilities for treatment of every disease where super speciality facilities should be ensured in other medical colleges for treatment of diseases exclusively for the benefit of poor patents. He directed that generic medicines should be purchased for patients visiting government hospitals. Besides, work for making available modern medical facilities in all the medical colleges should be completed within time-limit.
It was informed that medical colleges will be linked with National Knowledge Network. As many as 150 posts including those of assistant professors have been filled up in medical colleges during the last six months. A project cell has been set up at directorate level to monitor construction works. Hospital management experts’ assistance will be sought for medical college hospitals. Online counselling has been started for admissions in post-graduate courses. Information about action taken to upgrade medical colleges was also given at the meeting. Principal Secretary Medical Education Shri Ajay Tirkey, Principal Secretary Finance Shri Ajay Nath and other departmental officers were present on the occasion.
