Special force for security of tourist in state: CM
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a special force will be raised in Madhya Pradesh for security and facility of foreign tourists. A mechanism will be set up for collecting information about foreign tourists visiting the state, ensuring their safety and looking after them. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing release function of Madhya Pradesh Tourism’s new ad “Rang Hai”.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that tourism has been given industry status in Madhya Pradesh. There is immense employment potential in tourism sector. Arrangements have been made to provide subsidy on establishing budget hotels at tourist destinations in the state. Ten special tourism sectors have been identified. Development works are being done at a rapid pace. He said that Madhya Pradesh has carved out a distinct identity in tourism sector. Tourists from country and abroad are getting attracted towards Madhya Pradesh. During the year 2012, as many as 5 crore 30 lakh tourists visited the state while this number was one crore 10 lakh in the year 2006. The number of foreign tourists visiting the state has gone up by 20 percent. Tourism business in the state has witnessed 30 percent increase. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan extended greetings of festival of colours, Holi.
MoS for Tourism Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh said that the state’s Tourism Development Corporation has received two national awards this year also. Now, Madhya Pradesh is an established name in tourism sector. The tourism ad being released today will give a new dimension to state’s tourism. At the outset, Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Dr. Mohan Yadav delivered the welcome address. Shri Ajay Menon of O&M ad agency gave information about the ad film. He informed that “100 Colours of Madhya Pradesh” is the theme of this ad film for giving information about tourism of the state. Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Vice-Chairman Shri Santosh Jain, Principal Secretary Tourism Shri S.P.S. Parihar and Director Shri Anil Tiwari were also present on the occasion. Corporation’s Managing Director Shri Raghvendra Singh proposed a vote of thanks. The 90-second ad film for Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation has been shot at a cost of Rs. 1.25 crore by international ad agency Oglivy & Mather. This will also be telecast in 60 and 30 minutes.
