State Govt. decides to constitute Bhojpuri and Punjabi Sahitya Akademies
Bhopal: In a historic initiative, State Government has constituted Bhojpur and Punjabi Sahitya Akademies. These academies will be run by Madhya Pradesh Culture Department like other academies in the state.
These academies have been constituted in view of active presence of Bhojpuri and Punjabi communities in Madhya Pradesh and their creative activities. Bhojpuri and Punjabi communities have added to cultural diversity of Madhya Pradesh and have given valuable contribution to state’s cultural, social, literary and art concerns. Constitution of Bhojpuri Sahitya Akademi and Punjabi Sahitya Akademi will add to Madhya Pradesh’s cultural diversity, honour and prestige continuously.
For promotion of various literatures and dialects, Madhya Pradesh Culture Department is already running Kalidas Sanskrit Akademi, Hindi Granth Akademi, Marathi Sahitya Akademi. Sindhi Sahitya Akademi and Adivasi Lok Kala Evam Boli Vikas Akademi.
At present, offices of both Akademies are housed in Mulla Ramoozi Sanskriti Bhavan. Shri Hari Bhatnagar has been appointed Director of Punjabi Sahitya Akademi and Shri Naval Shukla as Director, Bhojpuri Sahitya Akademi.
Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country where so many coordinative and interactive activities pertaining to culture, literature and arts are being conducted simultaneously through a number of institutions.
