State Govt. to pay rent of houses rented by SC, ST students: CM
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that State Government will pay the rent of houses where SC, ST students are living on rent to pursue study in cities. He said that no difficulty will be allowed in students’ education. Besides, no stone will be left unturned to ensure happy life of women and girls.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing a public meeting at Khaniyadhana in Shivpuri district today. He inaugurated and laid foundation stones for works costing over Rs. 20 crore. Shri Chouhan unveiled a statue of Maharaja Khalak Singh Judeo. The Chief Minister announced Rs. 50 lakh for development of Khaniyadhana and name the college there after Maharaja Khalak Singh Judeo. Minister in-charge of the district Shri Kanhaiyalal Agrawal, MPs Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia and Shri Prabhat Jha, Smt. Sadhna Singh and other public representatives were present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister described Maharaja Khalak Singh Judeo as an able administrator and benevolent king. Shri Chouhan said that government is making every possible effort for upliftment of every section of society. He said that State Government has made over 15 lakh girls “Ladli Laxmis”. Besides, a number of schemes are being implemented for their upliftment. For making agriculture profitable, farmers are being provided loans at zero percent interest and being helped to secure fair prices for their produce. For saving farmers from difficulty of depositing power bills repeatedly, Rs. 1200 per horsepower per annum rate has been fixed. Irrigation facility has been provided in 25 lakh hectare in the state. He said that facilities of road, water and power have been strengthened in the state. Round-the-clock power supply is being ensured in most of districts in the state.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that State Government is ensuring that the poor get food, clothes and housing, children education facility and free medicines are provided to all. He said that free books, uniform and cycles are being provided to students from class I to XII. He informed that apart from subsidised food grains, State Government has also decided to arrange housing for the poor. Residential pattas are being provided to the urban poor. State Government has launched Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana to make educated unemployed youths self-reliant. Under the scheme, State Government is providing loan guarantee to youths so that they set up their own industries and businesses. Besides, it is being ensured that state’s people get 50 percent jobs in new industries being set up in the state. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan visited a number of rural areas in Shivpuri district including Khaniyadhana, Pichhore, Bhauti, Sirsaud, Karera, Dinara etc.
