Bhopal — Calling it Quits: Resigning from the Bharatiya Janata Party and his Rajya Sabha seat, top party leader from Tamil Nadu Subburaman Thirunavukkarasar joined the Congress in New Delhi on Monday,
A BJP national secretary and former Minister of State for Shipping in the NDA regime, Thirunavukkarasar was elected to the upper house from Madhya Pradesh.
He joined the Congress in the presence of party general secretary in charge of Tamil Nadu and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president KV Thangkabalu.
A public meeting marking his entry into the grand old party will be held in December in Tiruchi, say media reports
