State’s handicraft and handloom products in demand in foreign countries also

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Handicraft and Handloom Development Corporation has started exports again after year 2005-06. Zari-zardozi, Bagh printed clothes, jute, cotton, chair, hemack and other handicraft has been displayed at Mrignayani stall in International Gift Fair in Greater Noida, New Delhi. Orders have been received from clients form Netherlands in the fair in October 2012-13 and from Netherlands, Sweden and Israel in year 2013-14. Orders worth 21 thousand 526 dollars have been received. All these orders have almost been completed.

Another stall of the corporation was put up again at Handicraft Fair of Handicraft Export Promotion Council in on February 17-18 and orders were received form clients from Australia, Germay and Sri Lanka. The corporation will not only supply materials against orders from these clients, but orders will again be received from old clients, who have informed about it in the fair.

Thus, it is clear that efforts of production of material of good designs by craftspersons trained by the corporation have met with success. They are being appreciated not only in domestic, but also in foreing countries, which is a major achievement for state’s craftspersons.

Jute material: Madhya Pradesh Handicraft and Handloom Development Corporation is exporting jute material for previous years to Holland and Israel. The export material is produced by 50 Bhopal gas tragedy-affected women at Jute Centre, Govindpura, Bhopal. Orders worth $ 6016.50 in 2012-13 and $ 21529.00 in 2013-14 have been received by the corporation. Orders have been received again in year 2013-14 only after supply of timely exports in year 2012-13.
