Bhopal

Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra on Friday issued stringent security directives ahead of the Assembly session beginning March 10. The orders, in effect until March 24, prohibit all processions, protests, and public gatherings near the Assembly premises.

Traffic restrictions will also remain in place within a 5-kilometre radius of the State Assembly, barring heavy vehicles, horse carts, and bullock carts. Tenant verification by police has been made mandatory, with strict action warned against violators.

To maintain order, protests and processions are restricted on key routes, including Lily Talkies to the 7th Battalion, Banganga Square to Raj Bhavan, Jinsi Square to the old jail, and Slaughterhouse Road to Board Office Square. Additional restricted routes include Jharneshwar Temple Square to Roshanpura Square, Polytechnic Road to the CM residence, and all roads leading from the new Assembly to Raj Bhavan, the CM residence, and the Press Building.

Security has been intensified with increased CCTV surveillance around the Vidhan Sabha complex. Additional police personnel have been deployed to ensure quick response to any disruptions.

The police have urged the public and political parties to cooperate, ensuring a peaceful and uninterrupted session.
