Sugar Quota for MP Enhanced by 3,000 Metris Tonnes under PDS
Madhya Pradesh will receive 3,000 metric tonnes more sugar from the Centre from next month, reported PTI.
The central government is going to allocate of 3,000 metric tonnes of more sugar to the state under Public Distribution System (PDS), said report.
“We were getting 9,500 metric tonnes sugar monthly under the PDS and now we will get 3,000 metric tonnes more,” Madhya Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Managing Director K C Gupta was quoted as saying.
Gupta said that the stock would be distributed under the PDS system at Rs 13.50 per kg, report said.
It may be mentioned that the state had been pressing the Centre to enhance the sugar quota to the state.
