Ahead of the forthcoming festive season, the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company (MKVVCL) on Thursday said adequate arrangements are in place and urged Pandal Samitis and Garba organisers to adhere to safety guidelines.
The MKVVCL, in a media release said, temporary connections will be provided for Navratri, Durga Utsav, Dussehra Pandals, Garba festivities, and other cultural activities.
The company has urged religious festival committees and electricity consumers to obtain online temporary connections as per regulations for electrical decorations in religious pandals and displays during Navratri.
The power distributor said that it is mandatory to obtain a temporary connection for these events as unauthorised use of electricity can cause an overloading of local transformers and result in power outages.
The company cautioned that unauthorised use of electricity may elicit a penal response against the organisers and the electrical contractor.
The consumption will be chargeable at applicable domestic rates, said the company while urging organisers for strict adherence to safety regulations.
