Two divisions, two districts and 80 tehsils created in four years

Bhopal: With a view to enabling the common people to have an easy access to Revenue Department’s offices in Madhya Pradesh at the local level, multidimensional efforts are being made by the State Government. One of its proofs is creation of two new divisions, two new districts, seven new revenue sub-divisions and 80 tahsils in the last four years. It is for the first time after constitutions of the state in 1956 that about 100 new revenue administration units have been constituted in a short span of just four years. With this, the state has now total ten revenue divisions, 50 districts and 352 tahsils.
With creation of Shahdol and Narmadapuram divisions in the year 2008, two new districts Alirajpur and Singrauli also came into existence. In February 2011, status of revenue division was accorded to Nepnagar and in June 2012, to Tendukhera in Narsinghpur district, Katangi in Balaghat, Chaurai in Chhindwara, Bina in Sagar and Lateri and Shamshabad in Vidisha district.
Since May 2008 till date, 80 new tahsils have been created in the state. These include Sirali, Rahatgaon and Handia in Harda district, Bamhori, Maksoodangarh and Shadora in Guna district, Athner, Ghoradongri and Chicholi in Betul district, Shamgarh and Dalauda in Mandsaur district, Raipura, Amanganj and Devendra Nagar in Panna district, Shamshabad, Tyoda and Gulabganj in Vidisha district, Umreth, Chand, Mohkher and Harrai in Chhindwara district, Chandia and Naurozabad in Umaria district, Maharajpur, Bakswaha, Chandla and Ghuwara in Chhatarpur district, Badarwas in Shivpuri district, Anjad, Pati and Barla and Barwani district, Pachore in Rajgarh district, Rehti, Jawar and Shyampur in Sehore district, Mangawan, Semariya, Nai Garhi and Jawan in Rewa district, Malthon and Shahgarh in Sagar district, Badi in Raisen district, Hat Pipaliya and Satwas in Dewas district, Orchha, Khargapur, Mohangarh and Lidhaura in Tikamgarh district, Panagar in Jabalpur district, Chhapara and Dhanora in Seoni district, Dahi in Dhar district, Chinaur in Gwalior district, Hatod in Indore district, Gaugaon in Khargone district, Punasa and Khalwa in Khandwa district, Baroda and Birpur in Sheopur district, Singali, Jeeran and Rampura in Neemuch district, Narayan Ganj in Mandla district, Paraswara, Tirodi and Birsa in Balaghat district, Indergarh in Datia district, Dolariya in Hoshangabad district, Tal and Rawati in Ratlam district, Gormi in Bhind district, Budhar and Gohparu in Shahdol district, Sarai and Mada in Singrauli district and Kathhiwara and Sondwa in Alirajpur.
