Sisters Commit Suicide in Chhatarpur as Two Constables ‘Harassed’ them
Two sisters have committed suicide in Chhatarpur district after two police constables allegedly harassed them and also took obscene photographs of one of them, said media reports.
An official said that constables, Kanhaiyalal and Arvind Patel, had allegedly caught the elder sister with her male friend on May 21 in a desolate place, snatched the boy’s mobile and forced him to leave the place, reports said.
Then, the two molested the girl and even took her obscene photograph using mobile, said reports.
On the following day, girl approached Additional Superintendent of Police with a written complaint stating the two constables clicked her obscene photograph and were harassing her, reports said.
“On receipt of the complaint, I checked the cell phones of the constables but there was nothing objectionable,” Tiwari was quoted as saying.
“However, the constables were suspended with immediate effect and a departmental enquiry was ordered against them,” he was quoted as saying.
Police said that the sisters told their neighbours that the constables came to their home on Wednesday and were harassing them, said reports.
After informing the neighbours, the sisters consumed some poisonous substance, reports said.
