Under-estimating women compared to men a big mistake

Bhopal: Under-estimating women compared to men is a big mistake. This was stated by Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav at 4th National Senior Women’s Hockey prize distribution function here today. It has been proved now that society cannot move rapidly on the path of progress without women’s participation. History is witness to the fact that women of our country have reached pinnacle in every field be it sports, politics or social service. Principle Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare Dr. M. Mohan Rao, Vice-President of National Women’s Hockey Association Sushri Shobha Singh, Arjun Awardees, senior players and office-bearers of Hockey India were present on the occasion.

Governor Shri Yadav said that women are not generally given opportunity to display their talent, power and capacity. Whenever given a chance, they have proved that they are not inferior to men. Nowadays, women are doing hardest of works, jobs and serving the Army shoulder by shoulder with men to serve country, society and family.

Director Sports and Youth Welfare Shri Vijay Kumar Singh said in the welcome address that facilities are being provided to promote hockey in Madhya Pradesh. Players of Madhya Pradesh hockey team have brightened names of the state and country at international level. On the occasion, the Governor was felicitated with mementos. The final was played between Railways and Haryana, which was won by Railways.
