Various teams constituted to monitor excess expenses during election
Bhopal: Various teams have been constituted to monitor excess expenses by candidates during Vidhan Sabha elections to be held in Madhya Pradesh. The teams manned by officers and employees of police, income tax, revenue, customs, finance, excise and other departments will monitor election expenses. Immediate action will be taken wherever excess elections expenses are detected. Income Tax Department will also keep a watch over illegal money transactions. During election period, strict watch will be maintained on illegal money transactions at airports, main railway stations, hotels, farmhouse, money launderers, couriers etc. The teams will also monitor extravagant election expenses on show-off. List of political parties will be chalked out which have not deposited income tax regularly.
Over Rs. 10 lakh withdrawal at a time from banks will also be kept under watch. Election officers have urged political parties and candidates not to carry excess cash during election period.
