Wanted Dacoit Killed in Encounter in Morena
Police has killed a dacoit gang leader, who carries a reward worth Rs 15,00 over his head, in an encounter in Morena district.
Talking to media persons, Chambal Range Inspector General of Police Sanjay Jha said that Rajendra Gujjar, who was involved in various dacoity and other crimes in Madhya Pradesh, was killed on the spot last night in a police encounter at Gopiapura village near Kuwari river in the district.
He said that other gang members, however, managed to run away taking mileage of the darkness and that in the ambush, two police personnel sustained bullet injuries.
The IG informed that a gun and 50 live cartridges were recovered from the slain dacoit’s possession.
Jha said that the killed dacoit was involved in several crimes, including abduction, blackmailing and extorting money from villagers and industrialists in the district.
The IG announced promotions to all police personnel in the encounter team.
