Woman employees’ safety will be increased in night shift

Bhopal: Labour and Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Minister Shri Antar Singh Arya has said that the state government is committed to ensuring women’s security and upliftment. For this, the Labour Department has included safety and facilities of women employees working in factories and IT institutions in night shift, in 100-day action for making such separate arrangements compulsory for them.

The Labour Minister informed that as per order of the Supreme Court in June 2011, women employees are free to work in the night shift from 10 pm to 5 am in textiles and information technology establishments. Under the proposed action plan, process will be undertaken to provide relaxation to such women employees as per conditions for night shift. Necessary directives will be issued in March 2014 to ensure safety and other facilities to women employees.
