Work to prepare photo electoral rolls of 70 wards of Bhopal and 25 of Kolar also from June 16

Bhopal: The State Election Commission has directed to prepare ward-wise photo electoral rolls of Bhopal Municipal Corporation and Kolar Nagar Palika for conducting their general elections 2014 within time-limit. This was directed by State Election Commissioner Shri R. Parasuram at a meeting at the commission’s headquarters here today. It is noteworthy that the State Government has decided to postpone the proposal to merge Kolar Nagar Palika into Bhopal Municipal Corporation. In this context, directives have been given to prepare ward-wise photo electoral rolls of 70 wards of Bhopal Municipal Corporation and 25 wards of Kolar Nagar Palika as per prescribed programmes from June 16. Ensuing urban body elections will be held through photo electoral rolls in the state. The Commission has recently announced a programme to prepare electoral rolls. The programme will be held in 2 phases with beginning of preparations of electoral rolls from June 16. The process will be completed with final publication of photo electoral rolls on October 20.
