Worlds first zoological park with white tiger near at Mukundpur in Satna

Bhopal. World’s first Zoological Park  and Rescue Center is getting ready at Mukundpur in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. It will be the first centre in the world where a white tiger and a variety of wildlife could be spotted and white tiger safari can be enjoyed.

The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has written to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi requesting him to dedicate it to people in the last week of January or February 2016 .

Shri Chouhan in his letter to the Prime Minister apprised him of the past saying that Vindhya region is known for the birth place of white tiger. In 1951, a white tiger cub was caught by the Maharaja of Rewa. Its name was Mohan. The white tiger breeding took place in captivity. The white tigers alive across the world are the progeny of the white tiger Mohan and tigress Radha.

Shri Chouhan in the letter mentioned that all requisite approvals have been obtained for Mukundpur Zoological Park and Rescue Center. The center will not only promote tourism but also generate employment opportunities for the local people. It will also serve as ex-situ conservation site and would be developed as wildlife conservation awareness center.
