Yatra is a Campaign to Build New Culture and Society- Nobel Laureate Shri Satyarthi

Bhopal. Nobel Laureate and Social Activist Shri Kailash Satyarthi said that the ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ –Seva Yatra is a campaign to build new culture and society. New culture is formed when people of every caste and religion raised issue in one voice. Shri Satyarthi was addressing the Jan-Sanvad programme at Pansi Ghat of village Umardha of Hoshangabad district today. Yatra entered Hoshangabad today on its 30th day.

Shri Satyarthi mentioned that Narmada Yatra is creating history. The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has made it a public movement. He said that he cherished a dream that a river in India should be cleaned like Thames River of London and Rhine River of Germany. This dream will be fulfilled by Narmada River. Permanent changes take place where society and the government undertake work together. Society which respects girls becomes civilised and well cultured. Water is the reason of tension between various countries of the world today. Work against this concern is being carried out in this yatra. Everyone will be benefited when Narmada River becomes clean. Shri Satyarthi further mentioned that the state government has decided to undertake plantation on both the banks of Narmada River and sand will not be illegally mined. This campaign has been conducted keeping in mind the notion of one thousand years ahead. He administered the pledge for de-addiction in every village situated on the shores of River Narmada and towards education for every child.

World’s Biggest Campaign for Environment Conservation

Minister of State for Horticulture and Food Processing and Minister Incharge of District Shri Suryaprakash Meena said that the Narmada Seva Yatra is transformed into a public movement. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has started this campaign with a noble objective. Chairman Gou-Sanvardhan Board Swami Akhileshwaranand Ji stated that Narmada River has remarkable contribution towards the overall development of the state. This campaign is the world’s biggest campaign for environment conservation. This is the project to lay foundation of Golden Madhya Pradesh. Every section of the society should participate in this. Chairman State Mineral Development Corporation Shri Shiv Choubey said that people are the foundation of this movement. This campaign is being led by government, administration and public. Member of Parliament Shri Udaypratap Singh mentioned that this campaign of River Conservation will be remembered for centuries. This campaign is being conducted to maintain the original form of the River Narmada. Local MLA Shri Thakur Das administered pledge for conservation of Narmada River. Minister Incharge of District Shri Meena beside Public Representatives, Sants and Villagers accorded reception to the yatra on entering Hoshangabad district. Villagers accorded welcome to the yatra beating drums and singing songs.
