Bangladesh won the Test series against Pakistan for the first time: won the second match by 6 wickets, clean sweeped the series 2-0

Bangladesh has won the Test series against Pakistan for the first time in the history of cricket. The team defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets on the last day of the match on Tuesday in the second match played in Rawalpindi. Litton Das scored a century in the first innings for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh had also registered a historic win against Pakistan by 10 wickets in the first Test match. With this, the team captained by Nazmul Hussain Shanto won the two-match Test series 2-0.

Before this, 5 test series were played between the two teams and all were won by Pakistan. Both the teams played test for the first time in the year 2001.

119 run partnership between Shanto-Mominul Haque in the second innings
Pakistani team was all out at 172 runs in the second innings on Monday. The team had given Bangladesh a target of 185 runs to win. Bangladesh started its second innings today, i.e. on Tuesday, from the score of 42 runs. From Bangladesh’s side, in the second innings, there was a partnership of 119 runs in 57 balls between Captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto and Mominul Haque. For the team, Zakir Hasan scored 40, Shanto 38, Mominul 34, and Shadman Islam scored 24 runs.

Bangladesh all out for 262 in the first innings, Shahzad took 6 wickets
On Sunday, the third day of the match, Bangladesh was all out for 262 runs in the first innings. At one stage, the team had lost 6 wickets for 26 runs. Here Litton Das and Mehdi Hasan made a partnership of 165 runs and took the team past 190. Litton scored 138 and Mehdi Hasan scored 78 runs. Khurram Shahzad took 6 wickets for Pakistan.

Litton Das’s century
Litton Das scored 138 runs in 228 balls in the first innings. This was his fourth century in his Test career. It was his second century against Pakistan. He is the first Bangladeshi player to score two centuries in Test cricket against the Pakistani team.

Pakistan team was all out for 274 runs in the first innings.
On the second day of the match on Saturday, after losing the toss and batting first, Pakistan team was all out for 274 runs in the first innings. Saim Ayub (58), Captain Shan Masood (57) and Agha Salman (54) scored half centuries for the team. While, spin bowler Mehdi Hasan Miraz took 5 wickets for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh came out to bat in reply to Pakistan’s first innings and scored 10 runs without losing any wicket till the end of the second day.

The first day of this match being played at the Rawalpindi ground was washed away by rain
. The match was supposed to start at 10:30 am Indian time, but due to rain, the toss could not take place till 12:45 pm. After this, due to the rain not stopping, the umpires ended the first day’s play.

Bangladesh ahead of Pakistan-Sri Lanka in WTC points table
Bangladesh registered its third win in this WTC cycle by winning the Test series against Pakistan. The team now has 33 points from 3 wins and 3 losses in 6 Tests. The team has now overtaken West Indies, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is at number 7 with 33.33% points, Pakistan is at number 8 with 22.22% points and West Indies is at number 9 with 18.52% points. India is at number 1 with 68.52% points and Australia is at number 2 with 62.50% points.
