Oops! Indian skipper Virat Kohli drops an easy catch against Australia in 1st T20I

Indian skipper Virat Kohli is known to be one of the best fielders in the world and he hardly drops a catch but in the first T20I of the series against Australia, he dropped one of the easiest catches you would ever see. Aaron Finch drove the ball towards cover but hit the it in the air straight towards the Indian captain. Kohli was in the right position to grab the ball but it went past his hands.

An early wicket, that too of skipper Aaron Finch, could have been the best thing for India in the opening game of the series but the visitors squandered an easy opportunity right in the fourth over of the game. Here is the video of the dropped catch –

Jasprit Bumrah, the bowler, lauded captain’s effort but it wasn’t a sight that even Kohli would like to remember. Finch went on to add 21 runs to his account before being dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav on a score of 27 off 24.

Kuldeep also went on to dismiss dangerous looking Chris Lynn, who scored a quick-fire 37 off 20 which included four sixes and one four. Australia scored 75 runs in the first 10 over at loss of two wickets.

Earlier in the evening, Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl first. Yuzvendra Chahal was not included in the playing XI as the Indian captain went for the pair of Kuldeep Yadav and Krunal Pandya. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had already announced Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav, Manish Pandey and Washington Sundar would not be part of the playing XI for the series opener. Australia made one change in the playing XI that played against South Africa as Nathan Coulter-Nile made way for leg-spinner Adam Zampa.
