How to stop sharing Siri recordings with Apple on your iPhone with iOS 13.2 beta

Apple had earlier found itself in the midst of a controversy after it emerged that the tech giant was recording user conversations with Siri and sharing them with human testers to improve the voice assistant’s accuracy and reliability. At the time, it had created a lot of trouble for the tech giant, which had as a consequence promised a fix for this in the future.

And now, it is finally living up to the promise. With the new iOS 13.2 beta update, the company has announced that users will be able to delete their Dictation history and opt-out of sharing audio recordings.

At the time, it had said that under the changes, Apple will allow its employees to review conversations only from customers who opt into the “Siri grading” program to improve the voice recognition technology. Apple will also delete by default any recordings used for the program. “We realize we haven’t been fully living up to our high ideals, and for that we apologize,” Apple said in a post.

“We’ve decided to make some changes to Siri” as a result of concerns expressed about the grading program, the company added. “Our goal with Siri, the pioneering intelligent assistant, is to provide the best experience for our customers while vigilantly protecting their privacy.”

However, computer-generated transcripts will still be used to help Siri improve its ability to understand human responses.
