The only hill station in Madhya Pradesh, Pachmarhi is often known as the queen of the Satpura ranges.
Situated at an altitude of 1,067 feet, this tourist spot is blessed with myriad attractions like ancient caves and beautiful monuments. Being at an elevated height and surrounded by beautiful forests of the Satpuras, with their streams and waterfalls Pachmarhi gives any tourist a serene and memorable experience. Since Pachmarhi was discovered and developed in the modern times by Captain James Forsyth of the British Army, this city houses charming churches built in colonial style architecture.

How to reach
Pachmarhi is widely celebrated as the sovereign of the Satpura ranges. Located in Madhya Pradesh, it is surrounded by a magnificent hill range; Pachmarhi has traditional memorials for sightseeing and once can also find a lot of other sightseeing in Pachmarhi. How to reach Pachmarhi is also not a problem as there are a number of practical options. There are also a wide variety of resorts in Pachmarhi to help with accommodation.
By Bus: For a Pachmarhi trip by bus, there are various buses operating from Bhopal, Nagpur, Hashangabad, Pipariya and Chhindwaraeveryday to Pachmarhi. The Madhya Pradesh State Transport Development Corporation has regular buses that ply to Pachmarhi, helping in planning a suitable Pachmarhi visit by bus and giving one the perfect solution for how to go to Pachmarhi.

By Train: The Pipariya is the nearest railway station to Pachmarhi that is located at just 47 kilometres from Panchmarhi. There are no trains to Pachmarhi as there is no station in Pachmarhi. But one can get to this station with ease at it is the prime railway line between Mumbai-Howrah and there are a lot of trains that stop by this station. One has to hail a cab or bus from here to Pachmarhi since there are no direct Pachmarhi trains.
By Flight: There are no direct Pachmarhi flights and one should go to either Bhopal or Jabalpur, the closest airports to Pachmarhi. Delhi and Indore have direct flights to Bhopal and Jabalpur, while Bhopal airport has connectivity to many cities like Ahmedabad, Raipur and Hyderabad. One must board a bus or cab from the airport since there is no separate Pachmarhi airport.

By Car/Cab: As most of the final Pachmarhi travel is done by road, most of the roads to Pachmarhi are in excellent condition. One can travel to Pachmarhi by car from most of the neighbouring cities including Bhopal, Nagpur and Indore. There are also frequent Pachmarhi car rentals offered by various private tourist operators.

Pachmarhi is one of the most beautiful place of Madhya Pradesh’s. It is situated on the hills of Satpura ranges. Bridle paths lead into placid forest groves of wild bamboo, jamun, dense sal forests and delicate bamboo thickets.

Pachmarhi, wrapped in lush green meadows and rinsed by the many streams and waterfalls, is a real walker’s paradise, perhaps the best place of the state to enjoy your holidays. Situated in the Satpura ranges, Pachmarhi is an idyllic hill station in Madhya Pradesh. It is about 210 kilometres from Bhopal, the state capital.

Pachmarhi was discovered by James Forsyth, captain of Bengal Lancers in 1857, and then it also became a cantonment of the British. Even today one finds various monuments and churches of the British era.

Indira Priyadarshini Point, Jamuna Prapat, Dhoopgarh and Panday Caves are the chief tourist attractions of this heavenly hill station. Indira Priyadarshini Point offers stunning views of Pachmarhi. It was earlier known as Forsyth Point, named after James Froysth, who first saw Pachmarhi from this point.

Jamuna Prapat is a fabulous fall above the stream. One can enjoy taking a swim at the various swimming pools above the fall. Dhoopgarh, the highest point in Satpura range, offers impressive picture the sunset. It is where most people flock in the evening.
Pandav Caves located two kilometres away from Jai Stambha is yet another attention-grabbing tourist destination. The other places that one can tour include Handi Khoh, Apsara Vihar, Mahadeo Hill, Jata Shankar, Catholic Church and Bison Lodge. The Bison Lodge was built by Captain Forsyth and is now a local museum.
Pachmarhi is an excellent place to take long strolls. One can take a leisurely walk to Jata Shanker cave or just walk up to Chauragarh.
Satpura National Park, a site nearby, is an ideal place to watch wildlife in its natural habitat. Set up in 1981, the park covers an area of 524 sq kilometers and is habitat for a rich variety of birds. Bison, tigers, leopards and four-horned deer are just few of them. Tamia is another beautiful place, about 78 kilometres from Pachmarhi. Adventure lovers can trek in the woods in the Satpura range.
Bhopal is the nearest airport and is about 210 kilometres from Pachmarhi, and  Pipariya offers the closest railhead to Pachmarhi, which is about 47 kilometres away. In addition, Pachmarhi is well connected by road to Nagpur, Bhopal and Pipariya. At Pachmari, one has a number of options to choose from when it comes to lodging. Roch-End Manor, Glen View, Satpura Retreat, Hilltop Bunglow, Amaltas, Pachvati, Club View and Hotel Highlands are all good hotels.
The best time to visit Pachmarhi is April-July. Nevertheless Pachmarhi can be visited throughout the year except during the rains.
