Houthi rebels attacked Israel for the first time with a ballistic missile on Sunday. According to CNN, even Israel’s air defense system Iron Dome could not stop this attack.

The attack took place at 6.35 a.m. local time. The attack triggered sirens in Tel Aviv and across central Israel, prompting thousands of people to flee to safety.
Houthi rebels said that there will be many such attacks before October 7. According to the Times of Israel, after the attack, Houthi rebels’ spokesperson Yahya Sari has taken responsibility for this attack. Sari said that a military target in Jaffa was attacked with a hypersonic ballistic missile from 2600 kilometers away.
Jaffa is a part of Tel Aviv. Sari said that many such attacks would be carried out before the anniversary of the attack on Israel on October 7.
Houthi government spokesman Hashim Sharaf al-Din said Yemenis would celebrate the birthday of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, while Israelis would have to remain in bunkers.
