Ukraine attacked Russia with 144 drones on Tuesday. Many residential buildings were also targeted in the attack. According to news agency Reuters, about 20 drones were shot down around Russia’s capital Moscow. A woman has also died in this attack. Dozens of houses have been destroyed in the attack. Due to this attack, more than 50 flights had to be diverted from airports in and around Moscow. According to Russian officials, 3 out of 4 airports in Moscow had to remain closed for more than 6 hours. Russia has also shot down 124 drones in other 8 provinces. In retaliation to this attack, Russia has also attacked Ukraine with 46 drones. However, according to Ukraine, it shot down 38 of these drones.
More than 150 drones were fired 10 days ago Before this, Ukraine had attacked Russia with more than 150 drones on 31 August. This was the first time in the two and a half year long Russia-Ukraine war that Ukraine had attacked Russia with such a large number of drones. Ukraine had then also targeted the capital Moscow. According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city was attacked by 11 drones. An oil refinery and a technical room were targeted in these attacks. After the attack on the oil refinery, there was an explosion in it. After this, thick smoke was seen rising. According to Russian officials, Ukraine had attacked 15 provinces with 158 drones. They said that Russian air defense had intercepted and shot down almost all the drones.
Ukraine wants to attack by penetrating further into Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky now wants to attack further into Russia. According to news agency Reuters, he is also pressurizing the US for help in this. Zelensky released a video on August 31 and said that on August 30, Russia carried out an airstrike on Kharkiv, in which 6 Ukrainians died. At the same time, 97 people were injured. Zelensky said that these attacks can be stopped only when Ukraine targets Russia’s airfields and military bases. We are discussing this with our allies every day. We are trying to convince them for this.
‘Long-range missiles are needed to protect Ukraine’ Zelensky said, “Russian bombs can be removed from Ukraine’s skies only if we intensify attacks on them. Only then will Russia end the war and take steps towards peace. To protect Ukraine, we need missiles capable of long-range attacks and permission to use them against Russia.” Zelensky said that his representatives have shared all the necessary information related to this with Ukraine’s allies. Earlier on August 30-31, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umarov met American officials and experts in Washington.
