Pure drinking water to be available to 3236 villages
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that work is being done at a fast pace in Madhya Pradesh on the basic mantra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Atma-nirbhar Bharat. After taking care of every section of the State, plans are being prepared and implemented at the field level to meet their needs.
Among these schemes, there is also an important scheme ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’, through which it is being ensured to provide pure water from tap in every house.
Since the implementation of the mission, arrangements for easy, accessible and pure drinking water have been made in every household in 3236 villages of the State. This work is being done expeditiously in all the districts.
Chouhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Jal Mission on August 15, 2019, to get rid of the problems of rural population, especially women, who had to travel long distances with a pot on their heads for drinking water. Today this mission is proving to be a boon for the women living in rural areas. Now women have started getting drinking water through taps at home.
The Chief Minister said that life cannot be imagined without water. Nature has given us drinking water sources like rivers and ponds. We have also got drinking water from wells.
With the passage of time we have used the ground water for drinking water by installing tube wells and hand pumps. Due to this there was some reduction in the hard work of our half-population, but they could not get complete freedom from the problem of drinking water.
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, a change is being brought about in the life of the rural population by providing water from taps by using drinking water sources and creating new sources where there are no drinking water sources.
In the initial phase of the mission, we can see this change in more than 3.25 thousand villages. Soon the availability of drinking water in all households by tap will be ensured through the mission in all the villages of the state.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Central Government is also providing adequate allocation for this mission which is the priority of Prime Minister Modi. In the mission, from June 2020, the process of providing water through tap connections to every household in the villages started. Today 40 lakh 56 thousand 391 rural families are getting continuous water supply through tap connections.
