CM Chouhan flags off metro; said if required it would be extended to Sehore-Vidisha

CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan flagged off Bhopal Metro on Tuesday. He traveled by metro from Subhash Nagar to Rani Kamalapati station. Earlier, CM Shivraj said at Subhash Nagar depot, Metro will not stop here. It will be extended to Mandideep and if necessary it will also be taken to Sehore and Vidisha.

CM Shivraj said, I was in Bhopal now. Earlier, Tanga( Horse Cart) used to run here. First there was small Bhopal. As Tange went further, Bhatt Suar( auto rickshaw) came. Next come the small autos and taxis. Then the smart bus started and now we are travelling in metro.

CM Shivraj said, earlier they used to make fun of us that where will the metro run, but we did what we said. Madhya Pradesh termed as potholed has become  Metro Madhya Pradesh. Car and two-wheelers owners will also travel in metro. It will make everyone equal.

There is a festive atmosphere at Subhash Nagar station due to the trial run of Bhopal Metro. School-college students were also invited here. Along with this, a large number of people arrived to see the metro. Minister Vishwas Sarang, MLA Rameshwar Sharma, Krishna Gaur, Vishnu Khatri, Mayor Malti Rai, Corporation President Kishan Suryavanshi, BJP candidate from Central Assembly Dhurunarayan Singh, BJP candidate from North Assembly Alok Sharma were also present on the stage.

Metro coach reached Bhopal on 17th September

The coach was brought to Bhopal on the night of September 17 after covering a distance of about 850 kilometers from Samvali (Vadodara) in Gujarat. On 18 September they were brought to the Inspection Bay Line (IBL) in the depot. After this, a team of more than 50 people including senior engineers, technical experts, supervisors were engaged in connecting the coaches and testing them. After working for 8 days, it was seen by walking on the metro track on 26th September. For 6 days, the metro was put on the track several times. Metro was seen running on track on Monday too.

There are total five stations between Subhash Nagar and RKMP, but the metro will go to two stations Subhash Nagar and RKMP. Metro will not stop at Kendriya School, DB Mall and MP Nagar station. Both the stations from which the CM will board the metro and where he will get off have been illuminated. Escalators, stairs and foot over bridges have been completed here. There, the red carpet has been laid. Metro coaches and stations are decorated with flowers.
