The waste management system processes coconut shells to create eco-friendly products

Mayor Malti Rai inspected the coconut waste management plant at the municipal waste management station on Danapani Road on Monday, she instructed officials to ensure that coconut waste from all 12 waste transfer stations is sent to this facility.
She also inspected the municipal organic fertiliser unit near AIIMS and directed the processing of 100 percent of the waste generated in the city to produce organic fertiliser.h
Explaining the working of the system to the Mayor, officials told Rai that the Danapani transfer station’s PPP-mode coconut waste processing plant generates employment opportunities by processing waterlogged coconut shells and jute to create various eco-friendly products.
