Mayor Takes Stock of Helpline Efficiency

She spoke to several complainants and asked for their feedback to improve services

Bhopal

Mayor Malti Rai reviewed the performance of the mayoral helpline on Tuesday and instructed officials to strive for a speedy resolution of citizen complaints.

Rai instructed officials to accord top priority to complaints regarding street lights and ensure that they are in working condition within a week.

Getting hands-on, Rai also called several complainants to ask for their feedback regarding the services provided by the helpline.

The review, conducted every Tuesday, took place at the control room on the Smart City premises. Several civic body officials and departmental heads were in attendance.

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) later informed that a total of 763 complaints have been registered at the control room since the beginning of October. Of these, 380 have been resolved satisfactorily while the remaining are in various stages of completion.

The helpline initiative, an electoral promise of Mayor Rai, registers civic complaints and provides fast-track solutions and information to callers, so citizens don’t have to run around for better civic amenities.
