The fluid will be available at the hospital in 2-3 days

Peritoneal dialysis services at the Jaiprakash District Hospital in the state capital will soon resume after Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Prabhakar Tiwari intervened and arranged for a key component for the procedure on Monday.
“The necessary fluid for this dialysis will be available to the hospital within two to three days. Due to the depletion of this fluid, dialysis had not been conducted for some time,” read a communiqué released to the media on Monday.
Previously, the required fluid for peritoneal dialysis had run out. The hospital management had initiated the process for its supply, but the supplier failed to provide the fluid. Warning letters were issued to the supplier for the inconvenience caused to patients.
Soon after being informed of the break in the critical Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) facility, CMHO Dr. Tiwari checked the availability of the fluid at other medical facilities in the state and found excess stocks at the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Medical College (SGMMC). He ensured that 3,000 units of the fluid would be made available to the city hospital in 2–3 days.
Dr. Tiwari stated that, considering patient convenience, 1,000 units of 1.5% fluid were requested from Rewa Medical College. The dialysis facility will begin as soon as the supplies are received. Dr. Tiwari expressed gratitude to Dr. Akshay Srivastava, superintendent of SGMMC, for his prompt assistance.
