Madhya Pradesh Backs Its Athletes: Yadav Champions Sports Development

CM promises development of sports infrastructure, athletes' welfare

In a lively celebration of sports excellence, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav graced the Pankh Sports Achievement Award-2025 at Jehan Numa Palace on Saturday, underscoring the government’s unwavering commitment to athletes’ development.

Yadav emphasised the government’s comprehensive roadmap prioritising both sports infrastructure and athletes’ welfare. He lauded the honourees for bringing glory to Madhya Pradesh, reflecting the state’s dedication to nurturing talent.

Drawing inspiration from Lord Krishna’s teachings on social consciousness, Yadav highlighted society’s role in supporting emerging athletes. He praised the event’s organisers for their commendable initiative in recognising sports talent.

The Chief Minister also acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s impactful decisions, such as rapid vaccine production during COVID-19 and demonetisation, all aimed at national interest. He stressed that governance must uphold Raj Dharma, even when tough decisions are required.

Minister of State Krishna Gaur highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s remarkable progress under Yadav’s leadership, citing the historic achievement of securing Rs 30.77 lakh crore during the Global Investors Summit. She emphasised women’s empowerment initiatives and urged young athletes to work with dedication and patriotism.

During the event, 45 promising young players received incentives of Rs 51,000 each. A short film showcasing the journey and achievements of these sports talents was also screened, adding inspiration to the celebration.
