Joining NDA is “Political Necessity’ for BJS: Uma

Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and Bharatiya Jan Shakti chief Uma Bharti on Saturday said that joining the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance was a ‘political necessity’ for her party. The estranged BJP leader, however, ruled out plans of a return to her ideological principality.

“Joining NDA is a political necessity for a small outfit like BJS…I share similar views with BJP on Ram Temple and Ram Setu and reservation for OBC women with NDA partners like JD(U). It is natural for us to be with NDA,” said Bharti while speaking to correspondents in the national capital.

She added that she recently met BJP patriarch LK Advani to discuss the prospect of the BJS joining the NDA.
