Walkthrough Survey for Construction of All-Weather Roads: Bhargava
Minister of Panchayats and Rural Development Gopal Bhargava has said that a Walkthrough Survey will be carried out for connecting all the villages with all-weather roads by the year 2013 under Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
The minister said that government has given orders in this regard to all the district collectors and concerned officials.
He said that sub-engineers of Rural Engineering Service would be in-charge of he teams to be constituted for the survey and that the residents of surrounding areas, patwari, naib tehsildar and the owners of the lands near the new road would remain present at the time of survey.
Bhargava said that the field officers had been told to exercise transparency with villagers during the survey and for this purpose they should put up banners at the points of start and end of the road.
The minister said that if needed, the officers should make a night halt at the village for completing the survey.
He has instructed the officers to provide employment to BPL families in the road construction work and make adequate publicity arrangements for inviting labourers.
Instructions have been given for videographing of start and completion of the road construction work.
They have been told to get registered the land donated by a person for road construction. Instructions have been given to conduct workshops, put up exhibitions at local haat bazaars and organise information camps at district and Janpad Panchayat levels for wide publicity so that villagers’ consent can be taken.
