Every city of MP will get adequate water supply

Bhopal: The State Government is implementing Mukhyamantri Drinking Water Scheme with a view to ensuring water supply in the towns facing acute drinking water problem. HUDCO has sanctioned 1000 crore loan for the scheme’s implementation.
So far, schemes worth Rs. 493 crore 21 lakh have been sanctioned for 37 towns under the Mukhyamantri Drinking Water Scheme. Besides drinking water schemes worth Rs. 927 crore 24 lakh are proposed for 43 other towns.
Of the 37 towns for which these drinking water schemes have been sanctioned include one municipal corporation, 13 municipalities and 23 nagar parishads.
The schemes have been sanctioned for Rewa Municipal Corporation, Raisen, Mandideep, Ganjbasoda, Shahdol, Barnagar, Neemuch, Ashok Nagar, Dhar, Barwani, Jhabua, Balaghat, Narsinghpur and Mandla municipalities and Sultanpur, Khilchipur, Babai, Timarni, Naurozabad, Gurh, Tonk Khurd, Unhel, Suwasra, Tal, Bhaurasa, Karnawad, Namli, Khaniyadhana, Pandhana, Bhikangaon, Rajgarh (Dhar), Kukshi, Mundi, Badnawar, Niwari, Tarichar Kalan municipalities,
Under the scheme, 30 percent of the total cost of the scheme for the towns having upto 50 thousand population as the state grant to concerning urban body. Remaining 70 percent amount is provided by the HUDCO in the form of loan.
For the towns above 50 thousand population 20 percent of the schemes total cost is provided as State grant and 80 percent loan by the HUDCO. Not only this, the State government will also make repayment of 75 percent loan to the HUDCO. Concerning urban body will have to repay only 25 percent loan.
