Government decide of Merger of departments of similar nature
Bhopal: A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today decided to merge departments of similar nature. Bio-diversity Department will be merged with Forest Department, Bio-technology Department, Science and Technology and Information Technology Departments will be merged and Housing & Environment Department will be merged with Urban Administration & Development Department.
Responsibility of destitute children: The cabinet decided that government will take responsibility of destitute, rag-picker and wayward children’s education. This task will be linked with School Chalen Ham Abhiyan. These children will be brought up and educated in hostels. The cabinet was informed that 66 thousand 13 persons have so far got registered to become motivators under School Chalen Ham Abhiyan. It was also informed that about 10 years ago, over 29 lakh children did not go to school. Following state government’s efforts, this number has come down to 1.50-2 lakh.
Flat power tariff for farmers: The cabinet endorsed Chief Minister’s decision to provide tariff subsidy to supply power to farmers unmetered permanent electricity connections and same flat power tariff flat power tariff for farmers. Accordingly, the flat rates applicable for them with effect from April 1, 2013 will be continued in year 2014-15. Under the scheme, consumers are issued electricity bills twice in the year in April and October at the rate of Rs. 600 per horsepower.
Roads under BOT: The cabinet sanctioned construction of Baretha-Ghoradongri Road through Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation under BOT (annuity scheme). The 15.10 km long road will cost Rs. 40 crore 87 lakh. Its concession period is 15 years including construction period.
The cabinet also sanctioned maintenance of Bela-Govindgarh-Churhat Road through Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation under OMT scheme). Estimated cost of the 56.74 km long road is Rs. 12 crore 20 lakh.
