New song Safar from Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal out
Mumbai: The latest song from Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited film Jab Harry Met Sejal is out. The song titled Safar tells the journey of Harry, the tour guide, who belongs nowhere. “Safar ka hi tha main, safar ka raha,” is the line Shah Rukh, director Imtiaz Ali, music director Pritam and lyricist Irshaad Kamil agree on after looking for the correct word to fit Harry.
The video starts with the team, Shah Rukh Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Pritam and Irshaad Kamil brainstorming during the conception of Safar. Penned by Irshaad Kamil, the song is composed by Pritam and sung by Arijit Singh. Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter to share how director Imtiaz Ali did not allow him to sing their ‘favourite song’, Safar, and it was Arijit Singh’s voice that finally made the cut.
King Khan tweeted, “.@ipritamofficial @irshad_kamil Imtiaz wouldn’t let me sing our fav song #Safar. @raiisonai did & yeah it’s better. (sic).”
Safar is the third song from Jab Harry Met Sejal, and it arrives after Radha and Beech Beech Mein. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan along with Anushka Sharma in the lead roles and takes the viewer on a ‘safar’ across Hungary and the Czech Republic among other places. The film releases on August 4.
